Hey there,
Spring has sprung and there is lots going on! We hope you can join us at some of these events! (And at the end is info about the RISE program recruiting youth age 18-30!)

First up, next week on Tuesday, May 12, CJE is hosting Toxic Trivia Night from 7-9pm at Earth's Refillery Coop & Cafe.
The climate crisis keeps getting worse, but fossil fuel billionaires and their political allies are trying to persuade Canadians to ignore the wildfires and floods, and support new pipelines. But we know that ever-expanding oil and gas extraction only offers short term profits for the powerful few while unleashing death, destruction, and precarity for the many.
Climate Justice Edmonton and Earth's Refillery Coop are hosting this Toxic Trivia party to expose Big Oil's propaganda, and have some fun while doing it! Featuring free food, exciting prizes, and the chance to connect with other community members who care about climate action. RSVP here

Environment week runs from May 31 - June 7th and there are several events going on!
Monday, June 1 - Indigenous Climate Action and SCAN! (Seniors for Climate Action Now!) invite you to attend their webinar: Indigenous Climate Leadership for Our Collective Future at 1pm MT
Born in the fossil fuel capital of Canada, Indigenous Climate Action is holding the predatory fossil fuel industry to account for the massive environmental disaster that is the tar-sands, its lies to the Canadian people and the world about “green oil”, and its distortion of the economy. Come hear about their work and how you can support!

Friday, June 5 - Let's Talk - Community Climate Cafe hosted by Seniors for Climate Action Now! at Earth's Refillery Coop & Cafe (10831 95 St) from 1-2 pm.
Saturday, June 6 - Film Screening of Earth’s Greatest Enemy and Q&A with director Abby Martin at the Metro Cinema (8712 109 Street) at 3:30pm.
This documentary reveals a hidden truth behind the climate crisis: the role of the U.S. military as the world’s largest institutional polluter. More info at metrocinema.org/event/earths-greatest-enemy
Sunday, June 7 - ReConnect: to the land and one another
SCAN!, For Our Kids, Edmonton River Valley Conservation Coalition and Touch Grass Club invite you to tackle climate change by fostering strong relationships with the land and each other.
12:30 - 4:00pm at Alfred H Savage Centre (13909 Fox Dr NW, Edmonton)
There will indoor activities such as crafts, climate chats, ceremony, Corsi-Rothenhal demos and outdoor activities such as drumming, kid’s forest play, native plant sales, and guided nature walks!

Our pals at Apathy is Boring are currently recruiting youth for their RISE program!
This is an opportunity for young people (ages 18-30) to co-create and implement a community project right here in Edmonton! Working in a small cohort, with other passionate youth, participants will gain skills in leadership, project management, and community organizing.
Any interested youth is encouraged to apply regardless of volunteer, education, or work history/experience!
It is a great opportunity to gain transferable skills and serves as a great entry point to more civic and community engagement opportunities.
The next cohort of RISE runs from: July 6 - October 17, 2026 and Applications are open until May 24th. Click here for the application form!
Thanks for reading and hope to see you out and about!
